UANGKU - Pioneer Mobile Digital Wallet & Social Commerce Escrow

UANGKU was an early pioneer digital wallet application in Indonesia's mobile financial ecosystem, issued by PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk under the Sinar Mas Group (SMDV). Designed to deliver secure, frictionless cashless transactions, UANGKU empowered users to manage daily finances, execute bill payments, and transfer peer-to-peer funds with bank-grade security protocols.

A defining innovation was its Shopping Payment Request, an escrow-style payment protection architecture built specifically for Indonesia's surging social commerce ecosystem. By holding transaction funds safely until buyers confirmed receipt of their orders, UANGKU eliminated buyer-seller fraud across hundreds of curated social commerce merchants.

UANGKU was later acquired by Traveloka.

Legacy Migration & Modernization: Inherited a complex legacy codebase, successfully migrating the entire build pipeline and application architecture from Eclipse ADT to Android Studio (Gradle). Modernized core dependencies, streamlined build variants, and eliminated technical debt to substantially drive down production error rates.
Pioneering QR Payments via DimoPay: Integrated PayByQR in partnership with DimoPay, connecting UANGKU to one of Indonesia's earliest interoperable multi-bank QR payment networks for seamless point-of-sale checkouts.
Escrow-Style Social Commerce Flow: Engineered the mobile transaction lifecycle for the Shopping Payment Request feature, implementing state-machine handling for fund locking, seller shipment notifications, buyer release confirmations, and automated dispute rollbacks.
Fintech Utility & Bill Payment Suite: Scaled mobile payment workflows covering core banking top-ups, telco airtime and data bundles, and recurring utility bills (PLN electricity, PDAM water, and insurance premiums).
